The plate has round or square openings punched perpendicular to the surface. Round holes are arranged in a staggered pattern so that the lines connecting the centers of adjacent holes form a 60° angle, as shown in the figure. Square holes are arranged in parallel rows or in a staggered pattern, as shown in the figure. In either case, the center-to-center distance between openings is uniform.
